On 28 April 2011, at Arrowine Wine, Beer, & Cheese Shop, seven panelists gathered to taste five beers (selected by beer manager Jesse Ploeg) against three cheeses (selected by cheesemonger Katie Carter). The experiences were noted: which combinations ‘worked’; which didn’t.

The collective experiences were described for The Session: Beer Blogging Friday, an internet collaboration for which many beer bloggers write about one predetermined subject on the first Friday of the month. The topic for May 2011 was entitled: The Great On-Line Beer & Cheese Taste-Off.
